Michal Niemkiewicz is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Toronto office.
Michal focuses his practice mainly on intellectual property disputes. His experience includes patent, trademark and industrial design infringement actions as well as disputes under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. Michal has experience with a broad range of technologies, including various pharmaceutical technologies, vaccines, genetically modified organisms, computer implemented inventions, oil and gas technologies, and various others. Michal has also assisted clients with advisory matters, including freedom to operate opinions, validity opinions, and licensing agreements.
Michal received his law degree from the University of Toronto. Before that, he received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in biochemistry. His master’s thesis was focused on nuclear hormone receptors.
When he is not working, Michal enjoys cycling and the occasional game of tennis. During winters he takes up running, but he does not enjoy that as much.
