Maddie's practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences and biotechnology space.
Maddie graduated from the Juris Doctor program at Osgoode Hall Law School and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Maddie’s Ph.D. research was focused on the characterization and modulation of the vasculature in Alzheimer’s disease. She also has experience with delivery of molecules across the blood-brain barrier using MRI-guided focused ultrasound.
While at Osgoode, Maddie was part of a number of IP initiatives, including the IP Innovation Clinic, IP Osgoode’s IP blog IPilogue and the Oxford International IP Moot. During her final year of law school, Maddie was part of the IP Intensive program and was placed at ventureLAB, where she assisted tech start-ups with developing and pursuing IP protection.
