Marcus Gallie has over 30 years of experience helping clients protect inventions in the mechanical and electromechanical fields, as well as trademarks, industrial designs and related litigation.
With a wealth of experience, Marc covers the entire patent life cycle, handling the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and overseeing the filing and prosecution of patent applications. Marc guides clients through every phase of the patent process, ensuring they optimize the value derived from their intellectual property assets. His clients span from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational corporations.
He has acted as counsel for clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, and related appeals to the Federal Court of Canada (Trial and Appeal Division). He has also acted as counsel for clients on trademark and patent infringement actions before the Federal Court Trial Division.
Over the years, Marc has been a frequent speaker and writer on intellectual property topics ranging from patent claim construction, to non-traditional trademarks, to law firm management. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Canada Law Book’s Canadian Patent Reporter.
