Emily is an articling student in our Ottawa office. She completed her Juris Doctor at Queen’s University.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization and a Master of Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization from McMaster University. Her master's scholarly paper, Analysis of the orphan drug landscape for research and development, market access, and patient support in Canada, United States, European Union, and Australia, highlights her research interests and expertise. Before pursuing her legal studies, Emily interned in the pharmaceutical industry and gained additional experience through an internship at a bank. She gained valuable experience working on projects with start-up biotech companies. Emily was awarded the Bereskin & Parr Prize in Patent Law and participated in the Harold G. Fox Moot in 2024.

Emily's passion for both sciences and the law inspired her pursuit of a career in intellectual property. Her experience in the pharmaceutical industry solidified her aspiration to specialize in this field. She is excited to return to the firm, where she can continue learning from leaders and mentors, further reinforcing her commitment to pursuing a rewarding career in intellectual property law.
