Canada’s Intellectual Property Firm

Prosecution history of Canadian patents and applications now available online

As of June 15, 2015, the Canadian Patents Database (CPD) has been updated to include enhancements that provide a more user-friendly interface and access to an expanded library of patent-specific documents. These include the prosecution history of all open to public inspection patent applications and granted patents.

These enhancements improve the functionality of the CPD to offer access and functionality similar to that of other national patent databases maintained by foreign Patent Offices, such as the Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Register of the European Patent Office.

A list of published and non-published patent-specific documents that can now be accessed on the CPD is available here.
