Smart & Biggar welcomes Monique Henson to our Patents group

Smart & Biggar is pleased to welcome Monique Henson to our growing patents team. Monique joins the firm as a Technical Consultant, with a practice focused on patent drafting and prosecution and will work alongside our teams in the Ottawa and Vancouver offices.

Monique brings with her a vast knowledge of the tech industry and has experience advising clients in a multitude of fields including telecommunications, computer technologies, artificial intelligence and networking. Her keen interest in writing and the development of innovative technologies has enabled Monique to excel and apply her expertise to achieve business success.

Before beginning her career in intellectual property, Monique obtained her Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. During her studies she used high-performance computing technologies which provided a unique insight into data-led innovations, which now enhances her patent drafting practice. She is a qualified UK and EU Patent Attorney and previously worked as a Patent Attorney at an established and leading IP firm in London, England.

Monique will work alongside Smart & Biggar’s expert patent lawyers and agents to assist our high-tech clients with protecting their innovations in line with their business goals.
