Smart & Biggar welcomes Evan Nuttall to Calgary as a partner in our IP Litigation practice
We are proud to announce that Evan Nuttall has joined Smart & Biggar as a partner and member of our IP Litigation practice group.
Based in Calgary, Evan’s practice is focused exclusively on complex litigation matters including infringement actions relating to patents, licensing, trademarks, copyright and industrial designs. Known as extremely diligent and capable, Evan uses his practical knowledge of business objectives to provide solid strategic advice and act as a forceful advocate on behalf of his clients. Colleagues have described him as a “devastating” force in the courtroom, and as “passionately advancing his client's position while at the same time bringing a practical approach to the litigation” (Lawyers.com). As a result, Evan is sought after by some of the leading players in the energy, oil and manufacturing sectors.

Prior to his legal career in Canada, Evan practiced in England as a barrister and is a member of the Bar of England and Wales. He has appeared before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal in Canada, and the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.
