Smart & Biggar tops the charts in Canadian IP as Tier 1 across copyright, patents and trademarks in the 2021 Managing IP: IP Stars Guides

Smart & Biggar is pleased to share that Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) has ranked the firm as Tier 1 in all firm-wide categories in the 2021 IP Stars Guide — Copyright & related rights, Patent Contentious, Patent Prosecution, Trademark Contentious and Trademark Prosecution. As one of only two firms to achieve band 1 rankings across all areas of IP, Smart & Biggar is proud to be recognized by MIP researchers as a firm that is “highly recommended for IP protection and disputes work”. Researchers highlighted support from clients who appreciate the team's business-focused and strategic advice noting “[they] take the time to know our business and are very proactive in their approach”.

Reinforcing our leading position in Canadian IP, Smart & Biggar boasts 17 partners named as 2021 MIP IP Stars, while 12 of our trademark and patent practitioners were given mention as ‘Notable Practitioners’ for their expertise and status as future IP Stars to watch.
