Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce our continued standing as a Tier 1 firm in Canada for Copyright and Related Rights by Managing IP (MIP) in IP Stars 2024.

The firm’s trademark practice is recognized as Tier 1 for both Trademark Prosecution and Trademark Disputes. The firm is also ranked Tier 1 in Canada for Patent Prosecution and Patent Disputes. 16 principals are named IP Stars, and Daphne Lainson was featured among the Top 250 Women in IP. These rankings were announced earlier this year.

This high praise follows the firm’s success at the MIP North America Awards 2024, where we received Canadian Firm of the Year awards for Patent Prosecution and Trademark Disputes in addition to being named IP Boutique Firm of the Year - Canada. Principal Jean-Sébastien Dupont was named Canadian Practitioner of the Year (Copyright).
