Matthew Zischka instructs advanced IPIC Patent Agent Training Course
mart & Biggar partner, Matthew Zischka, is one of several industry experts to instruct Infringement & Validity, the second module of IPIC’s Patent Agent Training Course (PATC), taking place January 23-25 at the Ivey Tangerine Leadership Centre in Toronto. Module 2 of PATC is an advanced, practical program primarily intended to enhance patent agent trainees' skills relevant to infringement and validity and to increase their chances of success in the Patent Agent Examination.
Matthew, who is a former course director of the IPIC/McGill Patents Course and past member of the Patent Agent Examination Board, is a lawyer, engineer and patent agent. He is in high demand for his capacity to solve complex patent issues, and for his special expertise in the electrical, software, electronics, cloud, mobile, mechanical and medical device fields; and in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cryptography and fintech. He is a frequent speaker on issues of Canadian Patent Law and is recognized as being among the top ranked Canadian Patent Lawyers in multiple surveys and publications.
PATC is for trainees who have worked for at least 1 year in the field of patents. The course is divided into two modules: Module 1 – Drafting & Prosecution, offered in the fall, addresses subject matter pertaining to Exam papers A and C. Module 2 – Infringement & Validity, addresses subject matter pertaining to Exam papers B & D. Course instructors include past members of the Patent Agent Exam Board.
